I think this whole effort thing only works for stuff like exams and tests. As for assignments, well... that's kinda subjective to the marker.
You know it's nothing new
Bad news never had good timing
As you may have already gathered, my 40% assignment has been pulverised.
What annoys me about my results is that, the marker marked it like an English essay. Instead of looking at the content, she was constantly correcting me on my wording... crossing out words and adding in words of her own.
My honest opinion is that this was quite unfair, not just because this was my research report, but because everyone has a different style of writing. Just because I have used the word 'however' and she preferred 'but', does not mean that marks should be taken off. I'd understand if I messed up on a uniform term that every student was meant to use, but if it was a word that could be replaced by clicking on synonyms - I'd rather she go eat a live cow on a hot stinky day.
No, it won't all go the way it should
But I know the heart of life is good
Like every other disappointed student (that is obsessed with her studies...), I couldn't shake the thought off my head.
In fact, I was so discouraged from studying. Ever since I received my grade, I've been wondering why do I even bother and questioned my interest in my course.
.... Until dinner time when A asked me whether I had something on my mind. (It was kinda a silly question though, because he can basically read me like a book haha)...
He told me something that made me happy, he told me:
"As long as you've tried your best we're proud of you.
We're glad that you are doing a course that you tried hard to get into.
Always remember that there is plenty of time and
you don't have to do everything at once,
because if you do, you'll end up with nothing.
Everything happens for a reason,
and later on down the road, you'll be glad that this happened."

Fear is a friend who's misunderstood
But I know the heart of life is good
The mark was disappointing, and yes, I am still disappointed.
The worst thing I can do is put myself down, it is not the end of the world! Next year, I'll have different professors and tutors to mark my work~ Hopefully it won't be so pedantic and even so, I'll learn from this and be more wary next time!
Although my GPA is in jeopardy at the moment, I know I have tried my best. :)
Anyway, I am striving for at least a 98% for this upcoming exam. Yep, I think I'm going insane.
I know I can do it though, I can... right?
HAH. More studying? Yeah :) It'll be worth it!
I know it's good...
Study hard/ party hard,
X
